Relationship

As a tutor on our platform, you operate as an independent professional. This means you are not an employee of the platform and you have full control over how you deliver your tutoring services.

You choose the subjects you teach, set your own availability, and decide how you structure your lessons. The platform simply helps you connect with students and provides tools to manage scheduling, communication, and payments.

This independent relationship allows you to build your own tutoring profile and reputation while reaching students online in a secure and professional environment.

New Students

Students discover tutors based on profile quality, responsiveness, availability, and past ratings. Completing your profile and replying quickly to student messages increases your chances of receiving new tutoring requests.

The platform matches students with tutors who best fit their learning needs. Providing clear subject expertise, a strong profile description, and consistent teaching quality helps improve your visibility to new students.

As you successfully complete lessons and receive positive feedback, your profile becomes more visible, helping you attract more students over time.

Payment

During registration, you will set your default hourly rate. Students are charged through the platform only after a tutoring session has been successfully completed. Tutors should never accept direct payments from students outside the platform.

For each completed session, you will receive a percentage of your listed rate. The remaining portion covers platform services such as payment processing, student matching, and system maintenance. As an independent tutor, you are responsible for managing your own taxes and obligations.

Payments are made via direct deposit and are processed on scheduled payout dates each month. Processing may exclude weekends or public holidays.

Free response

The free response section is your chance to stand out. Be descriptive, be thorough, and be yourself as you tell potential students and parents about your experience and tutoring methods.

To become approved, specific information that outlines how and why you are able to tutor in specific areas must be included, such as:

  • Educational background, including any degrees and certifications.
  • Previous tutoring/teaching experience, including methods or approaches.
  • Contextual details such as the ages of students you previously taught, how long you have been teaching, and the context of your teaching experience (classroom setting, one on one, volunteer experience, etc).

Please do not provide your information in an HTML, list, resume or ALL CAPS format, as it will be rejected. All submissions should be in a narrative style and at least 2 to 3 paragraphs in length. All submissions are subject to a 2048 character limit.

Agreement and Terms for Tutoring

This agreement is a legally binding contract. By proceeding, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to the terms outlined below.

This Agreement ("Agreement") is entered into between you ("Independent Tutor") and Smart Brain Academy ("Platform"). By registering as a tutor, you agree to comply with the following terms.

1. Platform Role
The Platform operates as an online marketplace that connects independent tutors with students seeking educational services. The Platform does not provide tutoring services directly and is not responsible for the conduct of tutors or students.

2. Independent Tutor Status
You acknowledge that you are acting as an independent tutor and not as an employee, agent, or representative of the Platform. You are solely responsible for the content, quality, and delivery of your tutoring sessions.

3. Use of the Platform
You may use the Platform only for lawful educational purposes. You agree not to misuse the Platform, solicit users outside the system, or engage in activities that violate applicable laws or platform policies.

4. Payments and Fees
Payments for tutoring sessions may be processed through the Platform. Any applicable service fees, payment timelines, and deductions will be clearly communicated.

5. Compliance and Eligibility
You confirm that you meet the minimum age requirement, are legally permitted to provide tutoring services in your country of residence, and that the information you provide during registration is accurate and truthful.

6. Termination
The Platform reserves the right to suspend or terminate access if these terms are violated or if your conduct negatively impacts students or the Platform.

7. Electronic Acceptance
You agree that your electronic acceptance of this Agreement constitutes a valid and binding signature under applicable electronic transaction laws.
